Embossed wristbands are a classic variation of the popular silicone wristband, known in the Philippines as “baller IDs” or “ballers”. Instead of printed or indented designs, the designs are raised above the level of the rest of the bracelet.
The original Lance Armstrong Live Strong wristbands were a “debossed” design, which has indentations, so you can imagine an embossed wristband to have the opposite effect, with the letters and logos raised instead of sunk in.
The main advantage of an embossed wristband is that the brands, logos, and slogans can be made more distinct, without adding any visual clutter that comes with printing different colors. This gives them a minimalist appeal while making them easier to notice at the same time.
The 3D effect of embossed designs also gives the silicone bands a nice texture, which can give a nicer overall feel as well make them more useful for the sight-impaired.
Being one color with no additional printing, embossed wristband designs will also last longer, as the design is part of the band and not just printed on. This means no fading or scratching like you would find on cheaper silicone wristbands with prints on them.
Here are a few suggested used for embossed wristbands:
Freebies and giveaways. Embossed wristbands easily work into any outfit because there are no distracting color combinations. This makes it more likely for those who get these as freebies to wear them and promote your brand.
Business card alternatives. Business cards usually get thrown straight in the trash when you’re not looking. No so with embossed silicone wristbands. Because they look valuable and are stylish, people are more likely to hand on to them than they would a regular business card.
Fundraising. Like all silicone wristbands, embossed wristbands are perfect for raising awareness and funds for any cause.
